Rules & handicaps

How the society scores, cuts and settles ties.

Rules and regulations

  • Top 7 scores for final total, count back decided on 8th score and so on. (Still level, then most appearances wins)
  • Any player scoring 40+ points will be cut a further shot
  • All winners will be cut 2 shots (Majors), (1 shot in monthly medal with 9 players or more)
  • Anyone failing to comply with any R&A rule will result in a two shot penalty.
  • In the event of a tie the result will be decided on a “count back” starting from Stroke Index one on the final day (All competitions)
  • At Majors, in the event of no second round, it will become a one round competition.
  • Matchplay: any player not turning up twice for their same match will be disqualified. Winner cut 1 shot.
  • Euro: winner gets cut 1 shot for the following Euro only.

Handicaps

Every player has one society handicap and plays off it on every course (rounded to the nearest whole number). Results don’t change it automatically: the admin adjusts handicaps by hand, under the society rules above.
